Calendar changes

  • For the first time in its history, the series calendar was shortened. Running at six rounds long, it is set to be the shortest International Touring Cup season to date.
  • Though returning alongside two other established touring cups, the Brazilian round would be the only example of a returning circuit for the 2016 season.
  • Both the British and Portuguese Touring Cups returned, both traveling to new circuits; Donington Park and the Autódromo do Estoril respectively.
  • Three brand new touring cups were established for this season based in Poland, France and Dubai.
