2009

Morris made his GPVWC Superleague debut two thirds of the way through the 2009 season. The highly experienced FSR driver entered with the new CSG Racing team alongside team-mate Nick Rowland. Practice times suggested Morris was around a second faster than the competition and would therefore play a significant role in the Consiglio-Tanskanen title fight.

At the Italian Grand Prix Morris stunned the paddock by taking took pole, fastest lap and the race win. It was a dominant display from the Englishman and was definitely a sign of things to come. In Valencia Morris once again took the pole, this time by more than a second over Janne Tanskanen. Surprisingly the Finnish driver was able to challenge Morris during the race but ultimately it was the CSG driver who won out and took victory. In Spa, Morris took his third pole just a couple of tenths ahead of championship leader Joe Consiglio. With Consiglio disconnecting early on Morris was left to take a comfortable ‘lights to flag’ victory. At the Dutch Grand Prix Morris was once again in unstoppable form. The English driver cruised to his 4th victory of the season after taking yet another pole position in qualifying. Newly crowned champion Consiglio gave Morris a real run for his money at the final race of the season in Singapore. The two duelled for the entire race and with five laps to go it seemed Consiglio had got the upper hand on the CSG. However a late spin from the Maltese driver gifted Morris win number five of the season. It's fair to say Morris completely dominated the late end of 2009 and certainly sent a message to the league that he would be the man to beat in 2010.
