MadCape Racing Team is a GPVWC Constructor owned by Xavier de Carvalho and is based South Africa.

The Early Years

The team began as a touring car team in 2012. In 2013 added endurance racing as a focus for it's endeavors. In 2014 the team experimented with Open Wheel racing and went through a tough season, coming away with just 1 podium finish. During 2014, the team also managed to grow to over 20 members, and managed to grow it's iRacing division into a successful and competitive newcomer on the platform.

GPVWC 2014 ITC Season

The team entered GPVWC for the first time in 2014 as a constructor in the ITC, with Jimi Hughes and Xavier de Carvalho. Unfortunately the 2 drivers were not able to accomplish all of the goals which they had set for themselves and the team, but they were impressed with the level of competition at GPVWC and decided to apply for a spot in the Career Ladder.

GPVWC 2015 Formula Challenge Season

The team was granted entry to the career ladder for the 2015 Formula Challenge season. They managed to score a number of podium finishes and wins in the maiden Career Ladder season with Lars Brugman and Robert Wiesenmuller. Lars Brugman finished the season as runner-up which contributed greatly to the teams 3rd place in the Constructors Championship.

GPVWC 2016 Formula Challenge Season

MadCape entered the Formula Challenge championship for the second year in a row in 2016. The team dominated the 2016 season and managed to secure both the drivers and the constructors championships. James Johnson and Michel De Jonge were the primary drivers for the 2016 season. James managed to clinch the 2016 drivers title in the final race of the season.

GPVWC 2017 Superleague Season

MadCape were promoted to the Superleague for 2017. After opting to skip the mid-tier championship in the Career Ladder, SuperCup. The season began with positive results with Lee Morris stringing together a number of high placing results early on. The team held 2nd position in the Constructors Championship for the majority of their inaugural season. MadCape lost their potential podium position in the Constructors Championship after a string of poor finishes due to a poorly developed car. Lee Morris departed from the team in the final quarter of the championship, leaving the team with no matched replacement to continue the finishing form of their number 1 car. MadCape finished further down the order than anticipated, but still ended up in a respectable position considering this was their maiden season in the SuperLeague.

GPVWC 2018 Superleague Season

MadCape are expected to improve on their form from 2017 this year. They have enlisted the services of two respected and exceedingly capable drivers for the 2018 season. They also have a better understanding of the upgrades system, and are expected to develop a far stronger car than they had developed in 2017.
