Marius van Wyk is a South African sim-racer who participated for Deltec Racing Team in the 2014 World Sport Series season. He is also team manager for the Deltec Racing Team in 2014 & 2015.

Early Years

Marius started simracing in 2005 after buying a Logitech Wingman wheel. "It was the best money ever spent!" He went on to compete in 2006 in the FSR Pro75 (offline) World Series, where he finished second in the Series. "I learned a lot to finish so high after only started 1 year with racing online with a steering wheel' i hope to improve more!' Marius continued in FSR until 2008. During this time he founded Deltec Racing Team, named after his own PC computer business. Deltec Computers was the main sponsors at the time.

During 2006, Marius was approached by Armaroli Simulators in Brazil, to afford the opportunity to be the seat holder for Team South Africa in the online ASRWC Series. Marius agreed immediately. Together with drivers Zaahir Essa and Craig Hattingh, Team South Africa finished 2nd in the ASRWC Series. 2007 recorded the best result for Deltec Racing in FSR with a 4th and 8th place season finish. Hendrich van Rensburg & Riaan van der Westhuizen were amongst the drivers. 2008 was the last year Deltec participated in FSR.

2014 & 2015

2014 we fired up the engines and joined the prestigious GPVWC League, competing in the 2014 World Sport Series. We entered as Deltec Racing Team. Marius as driver and team manager. During the 24hr Le Mans Season, Deltec proved they have the focus and mindset to accomplish any task. Although Deltec finished in last position, they completed the magical 300 laps benchmark. Regular drivers for the year included Riaan van der Westhuizen & veteran racer Ken Hunter. In 2015 Deltec Racing Team entered into the 2015 Formula Challenge series. This is an exciting year as we have grown from 2014. We also secured the driver services of Denis Mitchell and Adam Ozgur. Stephane Rouault replaces Denis Mitchell for the remainder of the season. Both are experienced drivers. Klaidas Vareika was chosen as early reserve driver, and Stefan McCready succeeded him as reserve. Niels Vos resumes the latest reserve driver duties.

2016 Season

We will be back on the GPVWC grid. Lots of drivers talk has been going on behind the scenes to secure drivers for the 2016 season in various portfolios. Stay tuned.
