Rudolph Maré is a South African sim-racer who participates for Deltec Racing Team in the 2015 Open Series season.

Early Years

Rudolph Maré started simracing online early in 2014 on rFactor. But his journey with racing games started much earlier. There was the first Geoff Crammond's Grand Prix, the Need For Speed series, and then TOCA Race Driver, which inspired him to buy his first force feedback steering wheel. Colin MCrae Rally 3 and F1 Challenge '99-'02 were the other most played games during this time.

A trip to London in 2005 heralded the end of Rudolph's PC gaming for another 7 years, until a new PC prompted him to dust off the trusty (and dusty) old Microsoft Sidewinder wheel. NFS Shift 2 kept his interest for a short while, but he wanted to return to the higher level of realism and immersion of testing sessions and full race weekends. Race 07 did the job for a while, and then he joined an F1 league on rFactor.

Since then, and now armed with a Logitech MOMO, he has participated in several South African and international leagues in rFactor, Stock Car Extreme and GTR2. He also does the occasional fun race in Assetto Corsa and iRacing.

2015

In mid 2015 Rudolph signed up for the last few rounds of the GPVWC 2015 Open Series season, where Marius van Wyk invited him to join Deltec Racing Team as Development Driver. The experience in the team is sure to propel him through the field, where he hopes to compete as a front-runner in time to come.

2016 Season

Rudolph is confirmed to stay with Deltec Racing Team for the 2016 season. Stay tuned.
