PENALTIES
  • (7523): Luca Gray - Other (see Administration Comments)
    10 seconds time penalty
    2 license points docked
Gray makes contact with Luke Mitchell, and is attempting to “self penalise” and let Mitchell back through. However Gray does not manage to do this in a safe way, by almost completely lifting off throttle on a flat out section of track with cars in close proximity, impeding Sovik badly in particular. Competitors are reminded that attempting to give a position back is a noble endeavour and is encouraged but should always be done in a safe way as per 32.17. A penalty for this isn’t specifically outlined in the regulations, however the DC feels a penalty is warranted in this scenario and has therefore elected to use discretion in this case. When deciding on an appropriate penalty, the DC considered what the penalty would have been if this was a straightforward “Avoidable contact” case.
  • (7519): Caitlin Penny - Pushing a driver off track
    5 seconds time penalty
    2 license points docked
Penny is overtaking into T1 but never fully clears Pelletier’s car, who keeps the front wing alongside at all times. Penny runs over the T1 entry kerb, running wide and forcing Pelletier off track.
  • (7520): Jack Mayor - Causing a collision
    30 seconds time penalty
    4 license points docked
Mayor misjudges a move into T3 and clips the rear of Tuamaala, resulting in a crash and significant damage
  • (7521): Jack Mayor - Other (see Administration Comments)
    10 seconds time penalty
    1 license points docked
Mayor cuts the chicane to overtake Tuomaala. The DC acknowledges that Tuomaala was missing his front wing, however does not accept that the cut was for safety reasons. If a driver gains an advantage and/or position by running outside track limits, they are required to give up the advantage and/or give back positions in a safe manner as per 30.4
