The 2012 season got underway at the Australian Grand Prix with a full grid of 26 cars taking part at Melbourne. Midnight Motorsport made good use of their R&D advantage with Lukas Euler dominating the race meeting and claiming a hattrick. The podium was completed by Lee Morris and Joe Consiglio.  

With engine deals agreed the teams moved on to an intensive phase of pre-season testing, visiting Jerez, Imola, The Red Bull Ring and Magny Cours.  

Staff and sponsor negotiations have been completed by the Superleague teams and open the way for the final and most important round of bidding - engine suppliers.  

Preparations for the 2012 season are well underway now, with the beta version mod and trackpack having been released via simsync and most driver line-up having been confirmed. A full list of competitors and test drivers can be found here.  

In a shock move 2010 champion Janne Tanskanen announced his return to the Superleague and was quickly snapped up by the Red Archer team. This marks the first time since 2005 that 2 reigning champions have lined up on the grid.
