- 1 Falcon GP took part in the practice and qualifying sessions of the opening round in Australia, but failed to start either race
Other Entrants
The following constructors also entered the 2013 Formula Challenge season, but never competed in any official sessions:
Team changes
- Vod:Bul Racing was originally signed up to be part of the championship but just days before the first race it was promoted up to the Supercup following the withdrawal of Allen GP. Vod:Bul's slot was taken up by Tanskanen Racing, a Vod:Bul-affiliated team.
- SlipStream Racing and Vortex GP had initially signed up to take part in the series, but failing to attend any of the races, their slots were given to WCS Racing and DR Racing Kart, respectively, from the Hungarian round onwards. However, since the Monaco round, Vortex have attended, while DR Racing Kart have not.
New entries
- BackMarker Brigade, Fogel Motorsport and Edonis Engineering all made their débuts at the Malaysian Grand Prix.
- Multi21 Racing Team, formed as an off-shoot of the SimInk Motorsport team, made its début at the Austrian Grand Prix, along with nFinity eSports Racing and the SGP Team.
- WCS Racing made its on-track début at the Hungarian Grand Prix, along with Bower Allen Racing.
- Team Roxal made its début at Spain, technically.
- Pulse Racing made its début at the Turkish round, half-way through the season.
- YTF1 and Positive SimRacing were granted entry to the series shortly before the Belgian Grand Prix.
Driver changes
- Having temporary Replaced Ron Squire as team leader when he joined Squire Motorsports, Gav Mason announced before the Belgian Grand Prix that he will be withdrawing from the Formula Challenge, so Ron moves back up to Team leader, with Dimitris Tsioumanis moving up to Number two seat permanently for this season

Rule Changes
- The biggest change for this championship for 2013 will be to move race day to Tuesday evenings in the same week as Superleague and Supercup take place in order to guarantee three days of high-adrenaline racing. In addition these races will be run on the same tracks as the higher divisions in keeping with the career ladder concept.
- Formula Challenge will move to become more focused on the drivers who will be able to arrive-and-drive with more freedom than in the past. This will effectively mean that team entry requirements will be relaxed for Formula Challenge and enable new teams to join and establish themselves more quickly than before.
- A real game changer for the GPVWC, the introduction of a Dynamic Weather System will revolutionize racing in our series. The new plugin, produced by RFE, does not simply add wet tracks to the game: it is, crucially, a complete weather simulation, with atmospheric conditions changing throughout the race and being reflected by the levels of grip and temperature of the track. Improvements also include the formation of a drying line and wet tyre textures.
- The points structure will change slightly to reflect the one utilized in real life by MotoGP and will reward winners while still giving points to the top 15 placed drivers.
