Adam Rouse is an English sim-racer who is the currently the test/reserve driver for Torrent Motorsports in the Superleague. He has competed in the GPVWC since 2005 and was the 2009 Masters Series Champion. Rouse is also currently part of the GPVWC Staff and co-creator & administrator of the GPVWC Masters Series.
GPVWC Superleague
Puma
After entering the league at the tail end of 2005 with Puma he hooked up with the team in 2006 in a reserve driver role and was sprang into action in Round 2 at Malaysia, despite qualifying at the back after technical issues he came through to finish in 11th on his debut albeit in a high attrition race. After a similar result in Melbourne he was loaned to Vod:Bul who had a driver crisis heading into Round 4, now a wheel racer for the first time Rouse sprang a suprise points finish despite a scruffy race getting to grips with a new car and wheel setup. Vod:Bul were interested in transferring Rouse to their team immediately but were unable to complete it in time for the European GP. His final race for Puma yeilded a 10th place finish and he was transferred to Vod:Bul for a nominal fee.
Vod:Bul
2006
After joining the team which was also new to the GPVWC in 2006 the car was under developed compared to the front runners, however tail end points finishes was the target set out by team manager Mike Pitman and along with team mate Leontin Nemet provided the team with 15 points to finish the team 7th out of 11 teams entered in 2006. After finishing the season 14th in the drivers standings Rouse was nominated by the leagues Drivers and Managers as Rookie of the Year to end a decent first season.
2007
After signing again with the team for 2007 Rouse started off the season in good form scoring a single point for 8th position, however after the event Rouse left the team after they decided to enter the driver market again despite already employing several drivers. After the second round he was released from his Vod:Bul contract with the intention of sitting out the rest of the season.
EIRE
Rouse joined the William Ponissi ran EIRE team in time for Round 3 of 2007 however the partnership proved to be a disaster from the beginning. Despite the clear potential of the car he was subject to three retirements in a row (the longest streak in his career so far) and a points scoring 7th in the Canadian GP his tenure at EIRE was ended after a puzzling disqualification at the American GP. Rouse did however leave the team on good terms and was destined to hook up with the team again in the future in the guise of Nordsjoen Racing. Rouse did join up with the RTT team in an emergency backup role at Round 11 scoring points for 7th and a retirement in Turkey but his involvement in the GPVWC in a driver role was ended until 2009.
Nordsjoen Racing
2009
The GPVWC entered into online racing in 2009 and Rouse became the first winner in the new format at Australia, however it came via a last lap engine failure for Janne Tanskanen whilst well out in front, Rouse kept his nose clean throughout to take his first ever win in the premier series at the GPVWC. Engine failures blighted 2 of the next 3 races, first at China whilst battling team mate Joe Consiglio for the lead towards the end of the race and after a podium at Japan another engine failure whilst leading in France despite officially being a lap down due to a timing error. After consecutive 2nd places in the next two races Rouse missed his home gand prix due to work commitments and again missed another two events after a podium finish at the Czech Grand Prix. This effectively put Rouse out of serious contention for the 2009 championship, however he did manage to take his second win at the 2009 Brazilian Grand Prix. A podium finish at the final grand prix secured 4th in the overall standings for Rouse, level on points with multiple race winner Janne Tanskanen and a single point behind the ever present Mark Wicks. Team mate Joe Consiglio was the eventual well deserved title winner and the two combined to comfortably bring home the 2009 Constructors title for Nordsjoen Racing with 199 points.
2010
Due to commitments outside of the league Rouse intended to serve as the reserve driver for the Nordsjoen Racing team, backing up Joe Consiglio and Janne Tanskanen in the teams quest for a repeat of 2009's double title winning glory. For the early part of the season Rouse was completly absent and the role of reserve driver was left to David Stanton until Round 12 where he drove on short noticed to 4th position, a few races later he again was called into action to score another 4th in Spain. His final appearance of the season ended with a DNF due to a disconnection whilst sitting 2nd behind eventual winner and team mate Janne Tanskanen. The team again did win the drivers and constructors titles in 2010 becoming the first back to back winners since FinOz Racing (2006/2007).
Triple-Double Racing
2011
For the 2011 season Rouse joined the newly formed Triple-Double Racing and was teamed up with long time F1VWC member Phil Perkins. A decent pre-season showing for the team indicated that the team had a solid base to work with and the potential of the car would allow both drivers to score respectable results as the car develops. The 2011 Australian Grand Prix was to be his first outing for the team with the intention of completing a full schedule for the first time since 2009. Rouse qualified a respectable 8th on the grid despite an error which meant he did his fastest time on higher fuel, the race proved to be a great outing for the new team despite team mate Perkins early exit. Rouse was on course for a 4th position until a small tap from David Jundt in the final corner sent him down to 6th, still a strong result. Another 6th in Round 2 followed until a poor race and result at Suzuka resulted in his first DNF due to driver error since Turkey 2007. The team quickly found that despite a good car in terms of aero performance and mechanical grip the car was seriously underpowered in comparison to the top end engines and along with the BMW teams found that results would be harder to come by as teams settled into the season. Rouse picked up 3 consecutive 7th place finishes including his last race at Austria in which it was decided before the race would be his last appearance for the foreseeable future in 2011. Rouse returned for a one off drive with Midnight Motorsports to substitute for Nick Rowland who was unavailable for Round 18 at Spa. Despite not having raced since Austria and minimal time to get up to speed with the car or setup, Rouse managed to bring the car home in 5th. Rouse would ultimately finish 16th in the final Superleague standings for 2011 despite only competing in 7 of the 20 events, but again there was dissapointment in not being able to complete a full schedule and for the early part of the season finding himself in a car behind on fundemental pace.
Nordsjoen Racing
2012
Adam's involvement in the Superleague season was limited to the occasional free practice session for Nordsjoen Racing early on in the season with most of his concentration focused on a full time return to the Supercup series with Hawkeye Racing. This proved to be a fairly successful season with a handful of podium finishes and 4th overall in the drivers standings, his own team Halcyon Racing entered the Supercup and took home 3rd overall paving the way for a Superleague application for 2013.
Halcyon Racing/Woods Racing
2013
Rouse's team Halcyon Racing was accepted into the Superleague at the first time of asking, becoming one of three new entries to the GPVWC's top tier of racing. The season started strongly with points scored in the opening three races in an underdeveloped car in relation to most of the opposition. Rouse's best race in the Halcyon car came at Monaco, qualifying 12th and running strongly to eventually finish 10th. Shortly after the race the teams driver issues pushed Rouse towards Woods Racing and the eventual folding of the team by Spa.
Rouse made his debut with Woods Racing at Canada and qualified inside the Top 10 for the first time this year, after a strong race inside the Top 10 he suffered a brake failure with four laps to go and retired, classified 19th. A regular points scoring contendor for the rest of the season saw strong races at Silverstone, Abu Dhabi and in particular in the changeable conditions race of Monza. His time was somewhat blighted by connection issues which forced him out of points scoring positions at Spa and France, he stepped back to third driver free practice duties for the final two rounds of the season whilst the connection issue was corrected.
Torrent Motorsports
2014
For 2014 Rouse joined Torrent Motorsports to serve as test/reserve driver in the Superleague. Rouse made his race debut for Torrent in the fourth round at China, claiming his best result of the season in 12th. He moved into a full time driver roll with the team from the Canadian GP, scoring points at Austria and Hungary in an increasingly uncompetitive car as the team focused its resources for next year.
GPVWC Masters Series
MMC Racing
2009
Rouse won his first official GPVWC championship in the 2009 Masters Series, taking 10 victories on the way. The season also provided the constructors title for MMC Racing along with team mates Ryan McConkey and Philip Cullen. The BMW E90 proved to be suited to his racing style and provided plently of oppurtunities to show off race craft skills when coming through from the back in the reverse grid sprint races. However he was provided with close challengers in a strong first season grid that included 2009 Superleague team mate Joe Consiglio, notable tin top drivers Philip Cullen, Ryan McConkey and Phil Perkins.
After such a strong start taking 7 victories by the halfway mark of the season, despite missing out the Surfer's Paradise Event the championship was all but assured when Joe Consiglio exited the series after a string of unfortunate results and engine failures forced his commitments to turn back to the 2009 Superleague and allowed Rouse a free run to the championship.
2010
Rouse was again heavily involved in the organisation of the 2010 Masters Series with the intention of re-entering the series with MMC Racing with 2009 team mate Ryan McConkey however other commitments meant that he failed to enter a single event.
2011
Again in an organisational position for the 2011 season it is intended for Rouse to re-enter the series with 2009 team mate's, Philip Cullen and Ryan McConkey for MMC Racing. Rouse exited the series just after the half way point to concentrate on his role as Race Director and organiser, he was 4th in the championship at the time with a best result of 2nd at Zolder.
2012
Once again Rouse remained in an organisational position for the Masters Series and entered his own team Halcyon Racing which come season end had delivered both the Drivers and Constructors titles in dominant fashion, spearheaded by eventual champion Dave Carr-Smith and a rotation of team mates. With 14 wins out of 16 races and 20 podiums the team had accomplished the largest points victory over its nearest rivals since Masters Series records began.

GPVWC Involvement
Since joining the league at the tail end of the 2005 season Rouse has been involved in various positions within the GPVWC, most notably his work in conjunction with various teams to create racing logo's, driver helmets and car skins for various different cars and games. He has had various different skins raced in every season since 2006 and most recently has provided skins to 2009 & 2010 champions Nordsjoen Racing as well as various different teams for the Masters Series. He is currently part of the GPVWC staff.
