Report
Malta Force once again proved their Supercup dominance so far is no fluke, taking a dominant 1-2 finish at Round 11, in Imola, with Lewis Redshaw taking the win, just 5 seconds ahead of his teammate Bart De Vos. Pavel Loknovski of Triple-Double Racing was a distant 3rd place, unable to mix it with the Malta Force pairing this time.
It was also Redshaw who took home pole position, an impressive 9 tenths of a second ahead of De Vos, although unsurprisingly the race turned out to be a much closer affair. It was an impressive Supercup debut for Dutch driver Kenney Lybeer, who driving for Red 5 Racing was able to take home a lonely, but nevertheless impressive 4th place. Kernow Sport driver Tom Parker took home 5th place, despite suffering from brake issues for the last 8 laps or so.
A solid race for Water Blue Racing driver Ihab Abbas saw him take 6th, whilst Jason Muscat took 7th place, albeit very disappointed with the result. It was also a difficult race for another title contender David Jundt, who didn't appear to be as on the pace as usual, and finished a relatively disappointing 8th place. Phil Perkins finished 9th for Draig Racing in only his second race back in the Supercup, and Christoph Lichtenstein took the final point in 10th position.
The dominant result for Malta Force sees their Constructors Championship lead increase over their nearest rivals Nijo Racing, whilst Pavel Loknovski, solely carrying the torch for Triple-Double Racing manages to close in on Nordsjoen Racing for 3rd place. In the Drivers Championship, Bart De Vos continues his dominance, but sees his teammate Redshaw slowly trying to close him down. Loknovski's 3rd place is able to keep his championship challenge firmly intact. Further down the order, Tom Parker's 5th place sees him jump up into the top 10 of the standings, an impressive feat considering he didn't begin racing until the Austrian Grand Prix.
