Masters Series |
The 2016 Masters Series (sometimes referred to as the 2015/16 Masters Series despite the championship having taken place within the 2016 calander year only) was the seventh season of the Masters Series at the GPVWC. David Jundt entered the series as the reigning champion, having taken the crown in the ultimately shortened 2014 season and with the 2015 season never having taken place, but did not obtain a full-time drive.
Eric Stranne would win the Drivers' title at the penultimate round at Adelaide, with Ice Cold Racing taking the Teams' title at the final round at Brno. Stranne utterly dominated the season, winning all but one of the races in the season, narrowly missing out on becoming only the second driver in GPVWC history to win all races in a season after Dave Carr-Smith achieved the feat in the 2012 Winter GT season.
