Paul Fawcett, MMRT's most recent addition to their line-up, talked to the F1VWC Press concerning his aspirations for the 2004 season.

"After many months of offers by various F1VWC teams for me to join and compete in the 2004 season, I am happy to announce my acceptance of a drive in Miguel Oliveira's team, Mantra Motorsport.

I have much respect for Miguel as a person, and also as a very quick driver, as our sparring in the SFO 2003 season proved to be closely fought between us.

Due to this, and the fact that Miguel hounded me relentlessly for months now asking me to drive for him, I have finally succumbed to his doggedness and happily said yes in a bid to propel the lovely Mantra Motorsport car into hopefully, winning positions.

I have no doubt that the 2004 F1VWC season will be a tough one, which is something I am relishing. I plan to be consistent, which will hopefully allow me to be in the running of another Drivers Championship for myself and a first Constructors Championship for the Mantra team.

It's going be hard, as there are a lot of very fast and committed drivers from what I can see, but its a long season and its not over until the flag drops at the last race. I truly hope the competition is much closer this season. I am sure it will be!

I look forward to seeing familiar faces in the paddock very soon, and going wheel to wheel with you all.

I am very happy to be a part of the F1VWC in 2004."
