Phoenix F1 continue to have both continuity and strength in depth in their driver line up. Mark Nieuwlaar has signed an extension to his current contract and remains in the Test Driver role for 2004.

Yet another of the 2003 Phoenix F1 driver line-up, Mark Nieuwlaar, has put pen to paper for 2004 - again in the Test Driver role. This gives the Phoenix F1 team continuity (the only driver not continuing from 2003 is Team Boss Andy Graydon) AND strength in depth with the addition of Australian Daniel Wilkinson.

Mark was available for comment, and had the following to say:

"I'm very happy to have signed again with the Phoenix F1 Grand Prix Team, a team I see as having a very solid management and good prospects for the coming season. I had a option to become a Race Driver, but Andy and I have made an agreement that we should wait a year and we see next year again for possibility of this role. So I want to thank the whole Phoenix Foundation and Sponsors for their support and I will try to do the best I can as Test Driver in 2004".

Andy Graydon was equally pleased. "Mark proved himself very fast when he drove the car in 2003, and also currently holds the F1VWC lap record around Magny Cours for the Phoenix F1 team. I'm looking forward to seeing how he handles the new for 2004 PF1-02".
