The Puma F1 Press guys have been busy boosting the ego's of their teamwith some positive expectations from the Hungaroring! They had a Q & A session with team boss Dave Cummings:-
Q You are looking towards points here why?
We have another new engine here which is more powerfull but doesnt hurt our reliability so we are hoping to be closer to the other teams, but only qualifiying will show us how far off the pace we actually are. I know we have closed the gap on Woods, Eire and MMRT becuase although they attended the test session, the cars on certain days did run, so that is good for us.
Q What did you test in the test session?
The new engine and a slightly different mid car aero package, with a new diffuser over the rear wheels. We have also tested some new rear suspension, which allow thew drivers to dial the cars in a little better, and after the race with Andy Graydon, we found a few operational issues, and a few problems on the front end of the car, whereas the car seems to be eating the from tyres a little too much, but we feel we will have that solved for the 2005 car.
Q You talk about the 2005 car now?
Yes we have been running new parts for the 2005 car since mid season, we need to, so we can get the 2005 car ready asap, the aero package is staying its just mechcanical parts we are testing at the minute.
Q So the nose is staying?
Yes
Q Yet another differing driver line up?
Yeah, we are looking at the driver contracts at the minute, and we already have a full driver lineup, we need to make sure that the drivers are happy to stay within the team.
