Simsoa were dealt an annoying blow, when Lennart Schreiber - who had been contracted to race for at least 2 races this season - withdrew from his contract without a wheel being turned on Sunday evening just after the Hungarian GP.

Lawrence Simpson had picked up a fax message which said he would not race anymore due to others undisclosed reasons which had prevented him from racing at Hungary.

At the Team Managers' conference on Thursday afternoon at Spa, Lawrence told the press and other managers that Lennart would no longer be involved with Simsoa in any way. When Lawrence was quizzed about Lennart's absence, he said after a brief pause:

"Lennart's pulled out! Simple as that!" Sudden murmurs begun to spread across the paparazzi.

"Quite frankly, we were not surprised he decided to pull out! Communications between us and Lennart were very sparse and short, it's a shame he doesn't feel that he can race anymore, but as I say, we assumed that something would happen, so Javier is back in the number 18 now instead of at Magny-Cours. To be honest, we're not bothered at all after what David did at Hungary and we feel Javier could do the same; if not more! We're looking forwards, not backwards!" There was applause from the other managers and some of the press.

David's points at Hungary increase Simsoa's points tally to 14, only 4 behind JTM, Simsoa's goal is to take 8th in the Constructors Championship.
