Things seem to be going from bad to worse at the Puma F1 camp. On day 1 of the last in-season test of 2004, the team didn't take to the track. Team Boss Dave Cummings explains why.

After the first day of testing a Puma didnt turn a wheel - we caught up with Cummings to ask why?

You had a car on the jacks but no engine?

We are in a bit of an argument with Porsche, they seem to think the engine failure last weekend was due to the fact our front areos are taking air away from the intakes.

So why didnt the car run

Porsche and ourslves didnt want to waste money and a possible accident taking a car out on track

So is this why the PMA-01a's nose section has appeared on the PMA-01C

Yes. we are testing the cars reliability and handling with a conventional nose cone

John is believed to be an expectant father what are your thoughts?

WELL DONE SON! When the child is born John will be given as much time as he needs away from the team

Eire have said Wagner is under contract to them next year whats your views?

This is something that I don't want to comment on really, but all I can say is I believe Puma F1 has Andreas signed for next year. We have signed Andreas under the fact that his contract will expire at the end of 2004 with EIRE.

EIRE themselves have approached you havent they?

Yes they have but I cannot comment further

Is that a sign of them being off the top spot for next year?

No. If they need a fill in driver I will help them out by either loanig them a driver or drive myself for them for a few races, as I would expect any team in the championship to do, as Phoenix very kindly did for us in the last few races.
