Simsoa's situation is now tense. Currently 9th, they are looking/praying for at least a 5th place at Interlagos with JTM scoring no points to propel them up to 8th in the Constructors standings. Despite stand-in Nazario Nuti qualifying 7th and David scrambling 13th due to a CPU overhaul shortly before Qualifying 2, the odds are against them with Matt Maple in 4th and the Michelins with the better rubber this weekend.

"We're not counting on points, but Naz is very confident about scoring a point or two as he is learning the track by the lap." said Lawrence on Sunday morning. There has been speculation that Nazario Nuti might be making a possible move to Simsoa for the 2005 season. However, the rumour was quelled, but not dismissed entirely.

"All I can say is that we have our main racing line-up for 2005, but we're still open for reserve drivers to replace David and Javier if either one of them are unable to compete."
