Shock struck the EIRE camp late in the afternoon of a cloudy thursday night.

The first rumours leaked from the very heart of the EIRE headquarters in Utrecht, Netherlands. A shocking news of the team 2nd driver, Aleksandar Cvijovic, leaving the EIRE team after a terrible row with manager Ponissi.

With Ponissi visiting the Wind Tunnel in the old HQ in Rodano, the new Serbian driver joined to see the high-tech structure.

Apparently, an argument started between the two regarding the recent declaration by Cvijovic about Graydon being "brainless". Although the fact is reckoned by Ponissi as "highly likely to be true", the Irishman could not tolerate his driver's outburst towards the aged Chief Admin.

His attempt at patronizing the Serbian hot tempered driver, however, didn't help bringing the situation into harbour safely.

With Aleksandar irated answer, a terrible row broke out.

After a couple of tense minutes, Cvijovic has been seen fleeing the EIRE buildings yelling at his boss that he "has had enough of this Irish shit".

Just a few hours later, a sad Ponissi, with a visible bruise on his right eye, held a webcam press conference to announce the "suspension with immediate effect" of the Serbian driver's contract.

With this deep trench set between the team and the driver, it's likely that Cvijovic will be back to GPC before being even able to prove his worth, and Ponissi will be looking for another driver.

Surely, all this situation represents a big blow to the team hopes of fielding a competitive line up in 2005.

A source close to the team reported that an announcement about a back up driver could take place right after Christmas.
