TBA Racing today proved the hard work put in in the off-season has reaped huge dividends for the team. Both TBA cars were placed in the top three for the grid with Jonas Lindberg snatching pole for the first time in his career. An overjoyed Chaz Charlton had this to say:

"I am absolutely thrilled for both drivers and the team. We had an awful lot of self belief after the off season testing and this has boosted our morale even more. I'm really pleased for Jonas as he put in a lot of hard work at the end of last season and this has paid off in his marvellous performance today. I'm really pleased for Stephen as well as he has had a lot of problems with his car over the whole build up to this race and he only managed to get the one timed lap in during the qualifying period which put him on the second row of the grid."

"We are obviously keeping both feet firmly on the ground however. We realise that there wasn't a full turn out for the qualifying period but I feel this just goes further to prove the commitment and self-belief that is present at TBA at the moment. We need to take this result and use the experience to build the whole package over the coming races. I am so very happy for both the drivers and wish them the best for the race. No matter what happens in the future, the records will always show that TBA was 1st and 3rd in qualifying for this race despite any 'extenuating circumstance' talk that is bound to be going around the paddock at the moment."

After the horrendous run of bad luck we had last year I think we deserved the places we got today & it's down to the drivers for putting in the performances they did so I'd just like to publicly thank them for having the belief and commitment they do in TBA Racing. Thanks guys - the beers are on me!"

Due to a mix up in the PR department Jonas Lindberg was unavailable for comment at the press conference but we will have an interview with him as soon as is possible. Meanwhile, Stephen Wilson was on hand to give his views of his rather eventful qualifying session:

"First of all let me congratulate my team-mate Jonas on his pole. He really deserves it - well done mate! Qualifying for me was really hectic and the lap that got me third on the grid was my only timed lap of the afternoon. On that one lap I can say however that the car felt really good. I had a good set up and was able to carry a lot of speed through each corner and the car was great on the brakes and I could brake really late. There was a bit more speed in the car and I am sure that I could have been in the 1m13s as I did do some 1m13s in free practice. The problem with the car occurred on my second flying lap.

When I was approaching the Adelaide hairpin the rear suspension failed just before I started to brake. I lost control of the car and crashed into the barrier on the outside of the turn. The car was wrecked but will be completely rebuilt for the race thanks to the wonderful pit crew at TBA. I made it back to the pits but decided not to take any further part in qualifying, as I did not want to risk having a similar problem on the T-car. As for the race I am not getting carried away and expecting to win but I will be aiming to keep my place and finish on the podium. As you all know this is a practice race and the real positions for the season ahead will come after Melbourne.

Finishing off I would just like to wish all the drivers the very best of luck for the race and may the best man win."

This marvellous result for Wilson of course will do nothing but improve his off-track relationships with several members of the female horde that seems to have latched on to TBA this year. Chaz Charlton has decided to hold a 'small bash' for this evening but is saving the big party for after the race.

"We can't really be seen turning up on race day absolutely smashed so there will be a ration on the beers this evening. I have already arranged the after-race party and whatever happens in the race we will be celebrating TBA's first ever pole position - you can bet there'll be something special going on at THAT party!".

On a final note I'd just like to say that I think we surprised a lot of people today and I just want them to know that TBA isn't going to be in the same position we were last year - we have the belief, the equipment and the drivers to put in a really good performance this year and we must not let ourselves down like last season. This result is just what we needed at this point in the year it shows our hard work over the break has paid off. I'm really pleased for everyone concerned."
