March 27, 2001
On Sunday 25th March @ 8pm UK time, the GPVWC Governing Body held the second meeting in its history.

The meeting was to decide the fate of two GPVWC teams who have shown very little commitment and/or failed to keep a satisfactory amount of contact with their drivers and the GPVWC management.

The teams, HawkEyE & XanF1, both had presence in the meeting and put their relevant stories forward.

It has been decided, after hearing the reasons given by each team manager in question, to do the following:

HawkEyE Verdict:

HawkEyE must show a considerable improvement in committment, enthusiasm and contact with both drivers and GPVWC Management for the Brazilian GP. If no change/little change is noticeable, then the HawkEyE team will be removed from competition and replaced with a more willing team. If there is a noticable change - HawkEyE will be allowed to continue the season but be on effective 'parole' in which the team must remain committed etc or face certain exclusion and replacement.

XanF1 Verdict:

Kim De Schutter may take FULL control of the XanF1 GPVWC F1 team effective immediately. All teams contracts and conditions must be carried over to the new management [including the team name]. If Kim De Schutter proves himself during 2001 - he will be approved to enter his own team in the 2002 GPVWC.

In respect to the XanF1 situation, their former team manager Gijs Herpers has quit the team - hence the appointment of De Schutter.

DPI Cosworth were considered to be called before the board, but their problems are much more driver related rather than manager related, so they have been given the benefit of the doubt, for now.
