Dan Lawrence - Team Manager

I am pleased with our performance in Interlagos, although not having the 8 points that Jason earnt through taking 5th place has hurt us quite a bit. We would have been just 3 points down on CVRT otherwise.

The weekend went well, when you look at our team performance you can see that both drivers were pushing each other all weekend. 5th and 6th in Qualifying, then 5th and 7th in the race - I can't really complain about that.

My main cause for concern came after qualifying. Jason Smith was penalised for 'cutting a corner'. This proved to be the teams fault however, as we had not forwarded Jason any of the required rules and corner pictures. Jason immediatly appealed the decision which led to a Governing Body Meeting. We held our hands up during the meeting as it was a team error and not a driver error, besides which we thought that Jason had not cut the corner anyway (looking at pictures from several different angles proves that the decision to penalise him must have taken hours to reach!).

The verdict of the Governing Body Meeting was that Jason could race with no penalties or restrictions whatsoever. The drawback was that we were not allowed to reap the rewards from it (as a team) because the Governing Body determined we were at fault so therefore should not take any constructors points that Jason scored...such is life.

Jason had a strong race however, he finished 5th even though he chose the wrong pitstop strategy. We are pleased that he is still in the hunt for the drivers championship aswell.

Scott had a quiet, solid weekend. We came here with him last week so that he could get some practice in, which payed dividends. He was pushed for a decent setup however so we had to put Jasons setup on his car, which worked very well.

7th place is a good result, we are sure that Scott has room for improvement however and will be pushing Jason harder than he is already very soon.

Overall, we are moderately satisifed with the Brazilian GP. But we feel that the best is definately to come from the BMW powered DL Racing team.

Jason Smith - Driver

Honestly I feel somewhat disappointed after a long and somewhat painful weekend. The appeal of decision was a nightmare, as I felt that I had not broken any rule as far as I was aware. This then caused some distress amongst the team, and I feel this is evident in our race results. So much time was spent on the appeal, valuable time was lost preparing the car for the race, which was bad for Scott and myself. However I am still happy to walk away with some points, and am looking forward to the next race of the season.
