A stunning performance brought Laurentiu Albu from a pit lane start to a finishing line triumph in the 2008 European Grand Prix. The Romanian driver, who had failed to record a time in qualifying and had to start at the back of the pack, did everything right in the race and lapped the rest of the field, displaying a superiority that leaves a definite mark on the Drivers' Championship. Albu's rival Mark Wicks, starting from Pole Position, had to retire due to the damage inflicted to the car by an off-road moment, and now sees his championship hopes badly dented.

Scott Whiteman came back to scoring ways with a convincing 2nd place, and the last place on the podium was held by Mal McKee, who recovered one point in the fight in the standings with William Ponissi, who classified 4th.

In the Constructors' standings, Nordsjoen's 13 points helped close the gap with Belami Racing, with this competition seemingly going down to the wire.
