The GPVWC arrived in the legendary track of Spa with both Championships open and bubbling with battles. Qualifying provided some indications on how the fight for the crown could end, with Laurentiu Albu producing one more of his talented displays to record a pole position time - and a golden chance to increase his World Championship lead.

Behind him, Jeroen Jansen displayed once more his great qualifying skills, hoping to be able to turn them into more valuable points when raceday comes, and Mal McKee set his sights on P3 in the standings with one of his trademark solid drives.
