Laurentiu Albu won the 2008 GPVWC Drivers' World Championship!

The Romanian driver, one of the greatest drivers ever to grace sim-racing, drove a perfect race and managed to fight off the attacks of a resurgent Scott Whiteman, who only in the last few laps had to resign to 2nd place. Albu, the latest in a series of rookies to win the World Championship, is the first Romanian driver to achieve this success.

The podium was completed by William Ponissi on the second Nordsjoen, edging out Mal McKee in another close battle between these two drivers.

These results mean that, while Laurentiu Albu is 35 points clear of Ponissi and mathematically unassailable, the Constructors' Championship is more lively than ever, with just three points between Belami Racing and Nordsjoen.
