Maximum Racing have announced they have agreed terms with their one time driver Mike Phillis to become caretaker Team Manager.

Owner Anthony Meier and Mike Phillis sat with lawyers from both parties to thrash out a deal, working long into the night, and the deal was finally rubber stamped less than 24 hours after the Mexican Grand Prix.

Anthony stated "I was eager to get Mike to sign this new contract as I felt his devotion to the team since his arrival has been unrelentless, working hard not just with his own mechanics, but also with the Lee [Iden] and his team"

When asked about the now empty #9 car Anthony added "Well to put the rumour mill to bed once and for all, I have decided to put something back into the team.. I am now DRIVING for MAXIMUM RACING."

Standing next to his new driver Mike was quick to comment "This new arrangement, was made for the better of Maximum Racing; both parties felt that energies were being mis-directed and needed to be brought into line. This hopefully means with both my management skills along with Anthony and Lee at the wheel, we can start a major push for honours this season and also preparations for next season will begin in earnest!"

"With this renewed envigour in the team be sure that Maximum Racing will be fighting for MAXIMUM POINTS!"
