The revolutionary follow-up to last season's under-performing WDF1.10, European Williamson Dynamics have been very confident that this season's design will be far more competetive.

With last season's car showing strongly in testing, but lacking ultimate race pace, the team went back to the drawing board for this design.

Most noticeable is the very aggressive nose design, doubtless taken from the team's vast experience in the world of aerodynamics. At almost 5,000mm long, the WDF1.11 is noticeably longer than the car it replaces, but does also sit much closer to the ground to maximise stability and maintain WD's often noted ability to maintain a higher average speed through corners.

Overall, the car is clearly designed as an all-rounder, and as such will not have any particular stomping ground where it excels which may indicate the car will be a consistent midfield presence as opposed to a blistering pace setter. However, by maintaining an overall stability in the design, the car will also not suffer badly on any particular circuit.

Partnered with an all-new seven speed sequential shift carbon fibre gearbox, designed and built in house with the helpful addition of an electronically controlled, quick shifting Limited slip differential.. the car has the ability to perform very competetively when looking at running gear alone, ultimately however, it is the selection of engine to partner this design which will decide much, additionally such an obviously complex design has far more to go wrong with it than the simpler designs favoured by most teams.

To keep weight down, the traditional carbon fibre composite favoured by the team has been bolstered with a honeycomb construction and WD's penchant to run with an aggressive form of pushrod actuated suspension has continued and proved a major influence on the design.
