Nordsjoen Racing pair Joe Consiglio and Janne Tanskanen showed their class to top the timesheets during today's test in Monza. The reigning World Champion completed 109 laps, recording a personal best of 1:20.506, while the Finn was a mere 0.178s behind. In third position was, as in Jerez last week, Ashley Walsh of Draig, who made the best of the Ferrari engine on the long straights of the circuit.

A total of 28 drivers took part in the test, testimony of the success the GPVWC pre-season is having. Behind the three leaders, Argentina Racing Team drivers Agustin Canapino and Jesus Iriarte demonstrated great skills to bring their Cosworth-powered cars to 4th and 5th (with Fernando Babij in 7th), while 6th place went to Red Archer's Mickael Folcher.

With the teams about to receive vital information about Research & Development and the day of the first race being now just one month away, the values on the grid are starting to become clearer. Next week's test in Silverstone will provide some indications on who will be out to claim the top prize in Melbourne.
