French engine manufacturer Renault confirmed rumours that they will actively pursue a second deal with Superleague teams after the withdrawal of Red 5 Racing. The French company, which received the most applications during bidding time, is reportedly looking to supply a team "at the same conditions we had with Red 5", said a spokesman for the motorsport department.

The new team which will replace Red 5 Racing seems a natural candidate for the deal, but it is rumoured many established teams might try to wiggle out of their existing contracts to sign one with one of the best manufacturers in the circus.
