Despite a very disappointing initial season in the GPVWC, Williamson Dynamics large scale media presence and strong reputation seem to keep the team in good standing among some of the biggest names in the business.

Keen to capitalise on the team's recent relocation to Germany, it has been noted that representatives from both BMW and Mercedes-Benz have already been spotted at the team's Berlin headquarters with a view to drawing the team away from their solid relationship with engine supplier Toyota. Williamson Dynamics are a noted engine supplier and manufacturer in their own right in many series however, running under their own in-house powerplant is not permissibale under current GPVWC regulation and despite a porr season the team built up a productive and close relationship with Toyota which has lead to WD developing a specialised gearbox system around the Toyota RVX powerplants.

The team remain staunchly reluctant to comment at this time, with team operations director Marco Vandenbroeck stating quite clearly that the team woul donly announce their plans when the time was appropriate. Speculation within the paddock however indicates that BMW have provided the most beneficial potential partnership which could see toyota left out int the cold during what is expected to be a huge turnaround season for the team.

A spokesman for Toyota Motorsport GMBH. was quoted as saying; "Toyota Motorsport enjoy a solid professional association with Williamson Dynamics Grand Prix. One which we are keen to extend and we have heard nothing from the team indicating they were unhappy with the units we provided, nor that they wish to terminate our arrangement. We are prepared for the coming season and we are confident WDGP will be running with Toyota power in 2011".

Many have expressed concern that the Toyota powerplant, while cost effective and reliable, lacks the power needed for the team to compete in the top half of the grid. However, the team's relationship with the manufacturer affords them greater support, and stability can be the key to progress. At this point, it really is too early to guess who will secure the lucrative contract.
