Nordsjoen Racing might well be the reigning Constructors' Champions, but the team has been losing some of the most impressive assets in their lineup with a startling speed during the 2010 winter off season. Faced with the loss of World Champion Janne Tanskanen and team stalwart Adam Rouse, the team sees uncertainty looming over its 2011 campaign.

On Thursday, the Cardiff-based team released a statement thanking both drivers for their contribution to the team. Team Owner Birgitte Wangensteen highlighted the "sheer class and immense team spirit" of both drivers and wished well to both in their future endeavours.

Janne Tanskanen chose to retire from the GPVWC after two seasons spent as a protagonist in the Superleague. An impressive start in 2009 saw him finish 3rd in the standings with Evans Blue Racing, while his move to Nordsjoen in 2010 proved a winning one - rewarded with a championships dominated from start to finish.

Adam Rouse, a Nordsjoen institution, first drove for the team under the EIRE moniker in 2007. His return in 2009 saw Nordsjoen clinch a maiden win in the opening GP of the season in Australia, and the English driver would go on to score one more 1st place in Brazil en route to helping Joe Consiglio win the Championship. He then took a step back, testing for the team in 2010 and occasionally standing in with quite a success.

"Janne proved to be a huge champion and one of the best drivers ever to drive in GPVWC" said Nordsjoen co-owner William Ponissi, "not only a great talent, but an impeccable gentleman too. Adam Rouse is a friend, a part of the team's history forever and, next season, a driver who will surely be in contention for wins and podiums on a regular basis."

Nordsjoen also specified that "the doors are always open for both drivers to come back at any time, in any position" to support the team in the future.
