Nordsjoen Racing Co-Owner William Ponissi dismissed the rumours of Joe Consiglio leaving the team in favour of Synergetic as "pure folly". The head of the successful Cardiff-based team stated there is absolutely no truth whatsoever in the proposed move, and confirmed that Consiglio's contract, together with those of team mate Jyri Lylykorpi and testers Samuli Leinonen and Mindaugas Maciulaitis, has been already deposited at the GPVWC Headquarters.

"Joe is a valued member of our team and part of our family" said Ponissi about the 2009 World Champion, "and there is no way he would be leaving the team without having a talk with the Senior Management first." On the Nordsjoen side, this closes all possibilities of Consiglio's transfer to the Northern Irish outfit.

Prompted on what could have caused Synergetic Motorsport to spread the rumour, Ponissi explained his own theory: "We all know about [Synergetic Manager] Mal McKee's back injury and it is evident to me the medications GPVWC doctors gave him are causing some serious side effects - the man is delirious."
