38 cars took to the track in what turned out to be the most crowded session in GPVWC history. The first pre-season test of the 2011 season, held in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, turned out to be a really busy affair, many of the drivers simply unable to find the space to have a clean lap over the 2 hours 45 minutes session.

Championship favourite Lee Morris topped the timesheets on his Draig Racing, following by 2009 World Champion Joe Consiglio, Jason Muscat and Ashley Walsh; many of the expected front runners, however, stressed they were not going for fast laps.

Besides times, most teams were able to maximise their testing and collect the first, all-important data about their 2011 contenders - data that will set the Research & Development departments rolling soon, with the development system set to be opened in the coming days.
