Triple-Double Racing and Nordsjoen Racing will be showing their support for the population of Japan, stricken earlier this month by a terrible earthquake and tsunami, by displaying a flag of the country on their chassis, together with "Pray for Japan".

The teams' tribute is just part of the initiatives the GPVWC will be taking to remember all the victims of this tragedy. A minute of silence will be observed next week, before the start of the Suzuka Grand Prix, as the becomes one of the first sport championships to visit the country in the aftermath of the tsunami.

The feelings of affection for the Japanese are shared by many within the GPVWC paddock. Chris Williamson, Nijo Racing's manager, did spend part of his life in Japan and has some touching words about the disaster: "Japan is a country I've come to know well and have a great fondness for. Therefore it really makes me sad to see all the devastation that hit the north-east of the country in the recent earthquake and tsunami. My thoughts go out go out to all those affected and I sincerely hope that the situation improves for the Japanese people in the coming weeks and months."
