It hasn't all been plain sailing for Woods Racing since the 2011 season began. A slow car has seen the team struggle to make it out of Q1 and has left the team battling to score consistent points. This has left the team scratching their head as to why a team that has been placed 2nd in the constructors championship for the last two years is now struggling. Ollie Woods, team manager, wasn't afraid to talk to the media.

"It's utterly confusing", he said with a wry smile on his face. "We've still got a powerful engine, the car has already been well upgraded, and we've got two of the finest drivers. Yet despite this our acceleration seems awful and we're just not getting the laptimes in that we think we should be capable of. It's not fair on Mark and Kieran, it's not fair on the fans, and it's certainly not fair on every member of this team who works so hard. It's almost like we've got the wrong engine in the car!

"It's a shame because everything else seems so consistent and points to success. We've got consistency in Mark and Kieran and they're both so talented; in a sport where drivers are replaced every five minutes I'm so pleased that we're able to have the same drivers again. Maybe we've been too conservative with money apart from those two; I know some teams are or have been close to bankruptcy but they're the ones getting results so they get enough money to stay going. We've got to work hard as we can get back to form; I know we can. The good news is we have upgrades ready for China as well as more to come in a couple of week's time; hopefully that's a start."
