For Round 12 we head off to the fantastic Istanbul Park circuit for the Turkish Grand Prix. Taking us around the track this week is Constant Racing driver Mark Stanton.

Commentary: William Ponissi

Q. How has your lap out there in the Constant machine?

I think the lap was pretty clean overall. There's still more time to find, but it's a hard track to get every corner right over a lap as some of the corners lead directly into the next.

Q. Istanbul is of course famous for its Turn 8, but do you think this is most important part of the track? Also is Istanbul a track you enjoy?

I don't think Turn 8 is the most important part of the track because if you run wide there is a lot of run off. Turns 1 and 3 are more important I'd say as they're both blind entries and if you get them wrong you can lose a lot of time and momentum. I do quite enjoy the track as a whole, but some of the blind turns can be frustrating.

Q. How would you describe your driving style?

It depends on the track and situation to be honest. At a circuit like Shanghai which I've always liked, I can attack and be quite aggressive when I need to be, where as at circuits I don't enjoy like Kyalami I prefer to be conservative and focus more on finishing rather than fighting hard for positions.

Q. Given the close fights among the top runners so far this season, do you expect there to be some exciting battles at the front here at Istanbul?

Of course there will be battles up front as there have been at most of the races so far this year. The layout of Istanbul mixes things up so some drivers could be better on the brakes, and some better on the technical sections, so could make for some intense battles during the race.
