To celebrate his 100th race in the league, Woods Racing veteran Mark Wicks takes us for a lap around the Circuit de Catalunya.

Q) How was your lap in the Woods and are you satisfied with your pace at the moment?

- The lap was pretty good, not perfect though the car felt a bit better here then it has at previous races. I had more confidence in getting the front turned in and getting onto full power. Usually this car is very fussy and causes me to hesitate a lot, but it felt as good as it has all season around the track.

Q) What's your opinion of the Barcelona circuit and which parts do you find most challenging?

- It's not usually a track drivers praise or love. I don't think I do either but it has its fun corners. Turns 6 and 7 are a pretty cool challenge. Turn 3 can be boring, but the main challenge of the track is sector 3, some tricky slow corners there that all run straight into the next one. It's crucial to get them all right, otherwise the overall laptime is going to be pathetic.

Q) How would you describe your driving style?

- Not perfect! I've rarely been aggressive behind the wheel and sometimes that's worked against me. I strive so hard to get a smoothness, to have a car-caring style and be a sort of silent-assassin on-track, where I'm not exciting to watch but I'm always there, ready and waiting. This year though with a difficult car my style has become a bit exasperated, a bit messy at times as I really don't like a slidey car, I like it direct and grippy. But overall I have a careful and consistent style.

Q) This race you celebrate your 100th Grand Prix in the league, so what do you think has been the highlight of your time here so far and what do you think are your chances of a good result in race number 100?

- Personal highlights for me will always include my win at Hungary in 2008. For me that was the race of my life. Absolute perfection for 77 dominating laps. My two championship runner-up positions are also highlights as I unexpectedly got my name up there with some awesome drivers through sheer consistency and hard-graft. My chances for my 100th race are not as good as I would like. I won't be chasing the winner down to the line like last year and with the superior Nordsjoen and Red Archers out in force a podium is highly unlikely. I would like a strong points finish and I think it's a realistic target for this race.
