Lukas Euler once again leads from start to finish, and wins his sixth race of the season, ahead of Dave-Carr Smith and Nick Rowland.

The Istanbul Park track in Turkey marked the halfway point of the GPVWC Superleague season, and remains a popular venue for many of the GPVWC drivers and viewers, producing some exciting races in the past, and the anticipation was high again for another good race. The Midnight Motorsport pair of Lukas Euler and Nick Rowland remained the odds on favourites for a 1-2 finish, which was achieved in both the last two races at Canada and then Korea respectively. The likes of Dave Carr-Smith and Lee Morris would hope to try and end the dominance of Midnight. The biggest pre-race surprise of the event was without doubt the absence of Nordsjoen Racing driver Jarl Teien. Red 5 Racing driver Florian Strauss was also absent. Wesley Morris was delighted to be making his first Superleague start with Synergetic Motorsport.

Euler's perfect run of pole positions continued, with no surprise to the rest of the GPVWC paddock. No surprise also to see his teammate Rowland qualify 2nd, but with an outstanding 5 place grid penalty after an incident during Qualifying at the Korean GP. This elevated Dave Carr-Smith onto the front row of the grid, and Lee Morris into 3rd. Ojay Clark, in his second race with Red Archer qualified 4th, but was also carrying a 5 place grid penalty. The impressive Jamez Shepherd showed that his good pace during his debut Superleague race at Korea wasn't a flash in the pan, qualifying 5th and lining up 4th. Ruud Heesterbeek would start 5th, ahead of an impressive Lewis Redshaw in 6th. Rowland, Pavel Loknovski, Clark and David Jundt rounded out the top 10.

Relatively untroubled from start to finish, the German ace Lukas Euler did indeed continue his dominance, taking his third win in a row, and sixth win of the season. It was an impressive drive from Dave Carr-Smith for Green Stripes Racing to finish in 2nd, and was delighted with the upgrades the team had brought to Istanbul and cited a lack of tyre performance dropoff as a key reason in the result. Nick Rowland couldn't recover enough to make it another Midnight 1-2, but still took the final podium slot. Jamez Shepherd couldn't quite match his podium from Korea, but was equally delighted with 4th place, edging out a disgruntled Lee Morris who was extremely vocal in his displeasure at finish 5th, and unable to match the pace of the podium trio. Another 6th place for Ojay Clark is a solid finish for the new Red Archer driver after a difficult start to his race. Ruud Heesterbeek explained after the race that an uneventful race to 7th was the maximum he was able to achieve with his Nijo Racing car. After a difficult start to the season, David Jundt's consistent points finishes continue, taking 8th place, with Lewis Redshaw and Pavel Loknovski taking the last two points scoring positions.

Euler's winning streak sees him re-take the championship lead from teammate Rowland, moving to 107 points, with just one pointseparatingthe pair. Morris still remains in touching distance in 3rd, albeit now 22 points behind Euler. Carr-Smith has a lot of ground to make up if he is to catch Morris for 3rd in the standings, but extends out a comfortable 22 point gap over Heesterbeek who lies 6th. The retired Joe Consiglio remains in 5th between the twoaforementioneddrivers. Another retired driver in Janne Tanskanen stays in 7th place, ahead of Simon Cattell 8th, Pavel Loknovski 9th, and Jamez Shepherd moving into the top 10, with only 2 races under his belt. Midnight Motorsport's lead is a staggering 125 points over 2nd placed Draig Racing. With only one Nordsjoen Racing car appearing on the grid at Istanbul, the battle for 3rd place is beginning to heat up, with 4th placed Red Archer closing the gap to 16 points, with the one man army of Dave Carr-Smith for Green Stripes Racing just one point behind. Nijo Racing remain 6th ahead of Kernow Sport, but will bother be looking over their shoulders with the ever improving Red 5 Racing moving ahead of Woods Racing and Hawkeye Racing who round out the top 10.
