The GPVWC circus heads to previously unexpected pastures with trips to the Nurburgring and Road America over the next month.

The initial calendar listed the Buddh International Circuit in India as a stopover for the Superleague and Supercup series. The decision to go to India for the first time was dependant on the circuit passing inspection by GPVWC track officials. A final trip to the region in July saw the track fail inspection. The decision was not a surprise for many of the paddock with many keeping a cursory eye on proceedings in South Asia.

The GPVWC flagship series? instead stay in the European heartland for the final time this season and visit the Nurbrurgring circuit. It marks the first trip to the circuit for the GPVWC since 2008, where Larentiu Albu won on his way to the driver?s title that year. The series has not returned to Germany for a race meeting since, although Hockenheim has hosted a number of Superleague tests.

Fans are likely to flock to the town of Nürburg with the opportunity to spur on their home heroes. Lukas Euler leads the championship and is looking increasing likely to win the drivers? championship in his first year. German outfit Green Stripes Racing has shot up to second in the standings due to the stellar efforts of Dave Carr-Smith following a difficult start to the season.

Following the trip to Germany the GPVWC returns to North America for the United States Grand Prix. It has been even longer since the highest echelon of the GPVWC has competed in America. A number of drivers competing in this year?s Superleague were on the grid for the last United States Grand Prix. Kieran Ryan, Mark Wicks and Mark Fuller were all present at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway in a race won by Belgium?s Laurent Keersmaekers in 2007.

While Indianapolis was an option along with Watkins Glen, the decision finally went in favour of Road America in Wisconsin to hold its first ever GPVWC event. The track is widely regarded as one of the best road courses in the world. Lee Morris, who recently departed Draig Racing, is rumoured to be shopping around for a drive for the event, such is the allure of tackling the circuit.
