Nordsjoen Racing is looking forward to the Brazilian Grand Prix to add some shine to a lacklustre 2012 season. The Italian-Norwegian team, currently fifth in the Constructors' Standings, is in desperate need of points to see off the challenge of Hawkeye and Nijo, both less than 20 points behind in the rankings.

Interlagos has been a good hunting ground for the team in recent years, with wins coming in the last three races held at the track; and while seeing a Nordsjoen driver on the top step of the podium is very unlikely in tonight's race, the team are hoping to put some points on the board.

"Brazil is a track that seems to suit Nordsjoen cars. We had a 1-2 here last season with Joe [Consiglio] and Pavel [Loknovski] and we need points to try and close in on Draig Racing and keep the distance with the teams behind us," said team manager William Ponissi. "We know the car is nowhere near the leaders, but Pavel seems to have a good feeling with the track where he got his best ever GPVWC result and he badly needs a strong result."

With Loknovski not yet confirmed for the 2013 season - other team driver Bart De Vos already announced he is leaving the team - the Estonian will aim to boost his negotiating position with a good result. For a team already geared to 2013, however, a good result would be a boon in terms of Championship position and prize money.

"Joe won in 2011 and Janne in 2010. If there is a track we can have a good result, it is Interlagos," added Ponissi. "Heck, even Adam Rouse managed to win for us here in 2009!"
