Triple World Champions Nordsjoen Racing presented the car that will be driven by Dave Carr-Smith and Lee Morris in the 2013 GPVWC Superleague.
Nordsjoen Racing launched its contender for the 2013 GPVWC Superleague in Kristiansand, Norway. The team, which sports a full lineup consisting of multiple race-winners Dave Carr-Smith and Lee Morris with Pavel Loknovski as tester/third driver, is confident the NR006 will be the right car to come back to the glories of the past after a difficult 2012 campaign.

Presenting sponsors Hennig Olsen Is and Christianssands Bryggeri as new partners of the team, Nordsjøen Racing chose 2013 to stress the South Norway roots of the team. Team Manager Will Ponissi welcomed the backers to the team, and promised that the faith in the triple World Champions will be repaid.

"To have local partners meant a lot to us. Kristiansand is the spiritual home of the team and we are proud to represent it at the highest level in simracing," said Ponissi.

"We arrive in Melbourne with the knowledge we have done everything we could in winter testing to make up as much ground as possible on our rivals. With the option to use our own Martex engines as powerplants, we feel we are in control of our destiny and we get to the first race with the confidence needed for a good result."

The car livery, which was designed by Adam Rouse of Keep Alert Designs, features the new sponsors over the traditional Nordsjøen white, blue and orange paintscheme.

Dave Carr-Smith (ENG, driver)

"The NR006 is a great looking car. Adam has done a superb job on it once again for this year. When I first learnt of our new sponsors for the 2013 season, Christianssands Bryggeri and Hennig-Olsen, I had expected the livery to look very different this year, fortunately Adam has been able to incorporate them into the now iconic Nordsjoen Racing livery that we have all become accustomsed to. It is a livery that I have been waiting to drive for so long.

"Winter testing went as well as we could have expected. Whilst it's difficult to take too much away from it given the wide range of programmes, fuel loads and various other elements that go into such sessions, as a team we certainly achieved what we wanted. I now feel infinitely more comfortable in the car after the tests at Imola and Jerez where we got to sample the car in two very different sets of conditions, both providing extremely valuable data for the upcoming season.

It's difficult to know where we stand heading to Melbourne, in the wet at Jerez we looked very strong, Imola and Hockenheim we struggled a bit more in the dry and overcast conditions, but of course the car will change a lot prior to Melbourne. We hope that the upcoming developments will help us find a little more pace in the car to challenge those that were so obviously not showing their true potential throughout the pre-season period. The important thing is that we are comfortable with the car and have a solid foundation to build upon as we head into the season."

Lee Morris (ENG, driver)

"It is an absolute pleasure to get to Melbourne to drive such a stunning car. I absolutley love the livery, the car looks nice and it gives prominence to our generous sponsors.

"Winter testing went as planned for the most part, although I struggled to find a comfortable balance with the car due to the low temperatures experienced at the tests in Germany, San Marino and then the washout that was Jerez. But conditions in Melbourne should be back to normal and I am looking forward to extract as much as the car's obvious potential as possible.

"Australia is always a place where anything can happen, and it is difficult to make an accurate forecast of the challenges we'll face. But it's also the first occasion in which we can see our rivals in competitive trim and assess whether there are any surprise packages that turn out with a fast contender and set the benchmark for us all.

"The winter season has been pretty intense for me as I kept myself race-sharp with involvement in a few other series, and I am feeling ready to take on the Superleague."

Pavel Loknovski (EST, third driver)

"Being in the team as a third driver is not a much different experience from being a primary driver when it comes to winter testing. The main objective is still the same, getting maximum RD points and gathering data to help the teams, and that is something we did well this season.

"In the past, we've had some trouble with getting our test drivers to show up for test sessions and free practice, and I like to think that with me in test driver role this shouldn't be a problem. My goal is simply to get as many laps as possible done in the free practice to help with the car development.

"I must say this is the strongest team I've had the privilege being part of and we are in better shape than ever. With two very quick and tremendously talented drivers, a dedicated test driver and our resources should hopefully lead us back to the success we had before 2012. In the meantime, our competitors are also stronger than they've ever been, so it's going to interesting to see where we stand in Melbourne."
