Wauters Automotive unveil an all Belgian line-up ahead of their inaugural Supercup season, having been promoted from the Formula Challenge series at the recent GPVWC day.

It has been a good first season for Wauters Automotive in 2013. With 6 podiums, 1 win and an award for best livery of the year in the FC series, the rookie team managed to impress, and was promoted to supercup, the next tier on the careerladder, for the 2014 season.

With the recent growth in the league, it sure looks like the next season will be a tough nut to crack. Not only are more and more drivers joining the action day by day, the level of competitiveness in all series is skyrocketing as well. To fight at the front of the field next year, teams will have to find a strong combination of drivers, as well as a good and motivated team to support them in their efforts.

Teamboss Andreas Wauters believes the team has done just that, and feels ready to fight at the front in the coming season.

Andreas Wauters:
"For 2014, we have attracted Bart De Vos and Steve Verloy to our cause. Both drivers have shown that they can be extremely quick, and I strongly believe they both have the capacity to win races, even in the hugely competitive environment that 2014 will prove to be. Bart obviously has his magnificent 2011 Supercup championship to speak for him, and with a bit of effort, we should at least be able to give him a fighting chance to make it a double. Steve has shown good pace in the early stages of 2013 as well and we should be able to build on his potential this year. It is true that both drivers had difficulties in the Superleague last year, but we hope that the new Supercup format with two shorter races instead of one longer one will suit their style better. I for one am looking forward to see them do their thing.

We are also extremely happy to retain Mike Schroten as our reserve and test driver. Mike has been the shining star of our successful 2013 FC campaign, for which we can?t thank him enough, but didn?t feel quite ready for a full time Supercup drive. He will be helping us out with testing and setup work, and be our preferred option to put in the car should one of our primary drivers miss a race.

Needless to say we are all looking forward to the start of the season!"

Bart De Vos:
"After two disappointing Superleague seasons, I felt like I needed some away-time from the GPVWC top tier in 2014.

When Andreas showed me his plans for 2014 I was immediately onboard. I know Steve from Superleague last year where he found himself in a similar situation to mine I believe. I'm looking forward to working together with him.

Our goals as a driver are to fight for podiums and the big points. I know that won't be easy. The level will be high in Supercup this year, with top drivers from Formula Challenge moving up and experienced Superleague drivers taking a step down. Hopefully 2014 will be almost as successful as 2011."

Steve Verloy:
"Im extremely motivated to drive a good season in the Supercup , the new format with 2 races and changing conditions can give us some good action on track. Last season in Superleague was disappointing, and not the results I was looking for.

With some luck , the supercup car will suit my driving style better, in which case I am sure I can score some good results! I?m looking forward to work with Bart and Mike, and we can do some good testing and setup work together!

I got a good team around me, and with Andreas in charge I'm sure the team will head in the right direction.

Lets bring 2014 !"

Mike Schroten:
"After my first (almost) fully driven season in the Formula Challenge, I think I'm ready for a small role in the Supercup.

I'm happy that I can stay with Wauters Automotive as reserve driver. My main focus will be the Formula Challenge, but I will always prepare myself in case Bart or Steve can't drive. It would be nice to race in the Supercup (when needed of course) after being absent for 2 years."
