A new deal has been signed as the GPVWC newcomers celebrate one season in the league.

On the 9th September 2014, it will have been exactly 365 days since Cosmo Autosport first took to the track.

A lot has changed since then - not only have the team's colours have gone through several unseen iterations from the paint job first seen on their Ford Focus touring car that took to the Brands Hatch Indy circuit in the hands of team owner Joshua Anderson, and for a while they weren't the same between two series - but now, almost a year later, the team and their distinctive white/green/pink colour scheme have found success in GPVWC.

The team's World Sports Series effort has arguably been their most successful. With Cameron Brewster and Rob Mason (and guest appearances from both Anderson and Alexander van der Woude) driving the team's two Porsche 911s, they find themselves 9th in the Teams' standings heading into the Belgian round of the championship, ahead of various established names such as Draig Racing, Triple Twenty, Woods Racing and RTS. Although their International Touring Cup campaign has not gone quite as well, the team's impromptu Formula Challenge team has done well, with the line-up of Ben Horrill and Richard Coxon (with Scott Sovik, Patrick Wannemuller and Tim Heinemann all deputizing at some point in the season).

Now, almost a year on from their first race (and first DNF), team boss Joshua Anderson spoke on the team's GPVWC efforts so far, and his plans for the team in the future, from the team's base in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England.

"Firstly I'd like to say a massive thank you to all our drivers over the last year. The team couldn't have possibly gotten to where we are without the fantastic array of drivers that we've had.

Of course hitting 1 year of active competition is a large milestone, and as such the team will be running special liveries on our cars throughout September to commemorate that. We'll be reverting to our "retro" colour scheme of blue, green, and white - although the cars will look a lot better than the Ford Focus we ran on our debut!"

The team principal then went on to release a large image of the planned Formula Challenge car, which will run in the American and Abu Dhabi rounds of the season. Almost immediately there was a hubbub in the crowd, as people noticed the new logos on the FC car...

"As it happens the USA round is on the team's anniversary, so we'll be hoping to impress there. But I'm sure you're more concerned about the new logos on the car. We have been lucky enough to strike a deal with New Dawn, an up-and-coming music promotion community who promote EDM music. Having them on board is a major asset to the team and I'm sure they are looking forward to working with us as much as we are with them.

Obviously for 2015 we're aiming to further the success we've seen in 2014; the Supercup is one of our aims but we would be equally happy with a second year in Formula Challenge. We'll also naturally be planning on coming back to the World Sports Series, where we hope to stick it to the front runners and challenge for race wins, and the International Touring Cup also where we hope to make amends for our slightly disappointing 2014 season."

In conclusion then, while Cosmo Autosport have only been around a year, they're aiming higher than ever. With a determined team boss and a new sponsorship deal, it seems the only way is up for the Newcastle-based team.
