Epic Racing announces the signing of up and coming driver Rob Mason.

Rob raced for primarily for YTF1 in Formula Challenge last season as a reserve driver and got called up on a number of occasions, driving beyond his experience and registering a valuable points finish in his rookie season. Whilst his main goal is to find a full time race seat this season, Epic's offer of a reserve role which will see him once again partner up with Wopke Hoekstra was too good to turn down so close to the start of the season.

Rob had this to say upon confirmation of the drive;
"I'd started to resign myself to a season of pootling round, not making any progress, so when Lee got in touch about a role at Epic it was a no brainer, I'm very pleased to take up a reserve role. The chance to work alongside two quick drivers for a whole season is one not to be missed, and I look forward to helping them where I can to achieve some strong results this year as well as improving my own pace should I be called upon."

Epic Racing manager Lee Davidson was equally optimistic of Rob's progress;
"Rob is a very capable driver, reliable, committed and more often than not can bring the car home in one piece. He also has good pace as proven by his points finish last season in what was an exceptionally competitive field. I think the only missing piece of the jigsaw for him is the experience needed to take him forward and combine all his skills together on the track. I'm confident Epic can help him achieve this and hope this will be the start of a long and ultimately successful tenure for him in the team."

As Epic's preparations for its return to GPVWC continues, Lee hasn't ruled out any future signings, especially with plans for entries into various independent series gathering momentum, he was able to make a small comment on this;
"Ideally, we'd like different line ups for each series for each pairing can focus on that single series. In light of that, of course we are always on the lookout for new and existing talent to join our ranks. We are not looking to be a flash in the pan, rather we are looking to build foundations from which we can build a successful and professional organisation."

Epic's return commences February 24th with the opening round of the Formula Challenge season at Melbourne.
