Opportunity arises for the chasing pack as the Championship leader to miss out on the Principality.

Monaco is the most glamorous event on the superleague calender, its where teams bring all the big sponsors and the whole world watches. Teams obviously want a good result here to show the sponsors and this is evident in the amount of teams that have brought car upgrades to this event.

Vod:Bul Racing comes into this event in high spirits currently second in the teams standings and their driver Philipp Puschke leading the drivers standings having not been off the podium all year.

Arriving at the track today a reporter noticed that both cars had different driver names on them to normal. Oskari kantonen the teams second driver this year hasn't been able to sort out the issues that caused him to miss the Turkish GP last time out. Kantonen is expected to be seen on free practice duties once again.

Car 15 will be driven by Douwe Tapper the teams third driver for the season, having been in regular action in Supercup this season.

Car 14 and the Superleague championship leaders name also isn't on the car for this round. Philipp had sighted wheel issues for his absence. With new parts coming for Canada we should see the return to action soon of the championship leader.

We managed to get a few words from Puschke
"It obviously is very hard to know I can not race in Monaco as it is my favorite track. I will come back even more motivated than before and will try to give it all I can."

It takes a big driver to step into Puschkes shoes and in his place comes a superleague veteran Ruud Heesterbeek. He continues to show his skill in supercup and had many race wins in the Vod:Bul in the international touring cup.

Heesterbeek:
"I am excited to drive for a team fighting for the championship and I will do my best to bring them a good result. I'm effectively replacing the championship leader, so I have very big shoes to fill. The field is close and I have had very little time in the car this year, so the aim for the race will be keeping out of trouble and not making any mistakes, which will hopefully give me a good points finish."

Mike Pitman
"it's an unfortunate situation to find ourselves in where both our primary drivers cannot race, we are very lucky and thankful to have douwe on hand to step in and even more grateful to Ruud for stepping back up to superleague for this important and prestigious event. Vod:Bul will still give a strong showing and we bring another upgrade package to this grand Prix which has been well recieved by the whole team"

Can this new look line up be successful and help keep up the push for titles this year?
