The two MaMa Racing drivers, Erdem Coban and Leon Verheggen, are not optimistic about their chances in Melbourne. They don't think that they will impress in the forthcoming race.
Verheggen:"My height is still a problem. With 1 metre 98 MaMa is still working for a nice seat in the car and the space for my long legs. Besides that, I am still not used to the car. It is too nervous in the corners. I didn't have much time to get to know the car, so I think that our performance in Australia will be slightly different than we had been expecting. Looking at the preparations, I say it will be impossible for us to finish in the points. However, when the Formula 1-circus showes in Europe, we will be back where we want to be!"
Coban:"During the first roll-out, we discovered some 'teething troubles'. I talked with Luc about it and he assured me that it would be over when we started in Melbourne. The car is good to handle, only I am a little bit worried about the brakes. The balance in the car is not quite optimal because we can't find a good comprise in the brake-balance. I am sorry for all of our fans and the team, but looking to the troubles we've known and still know, I am very pleased with a top-10 finish."
Luc Lissens: "It is true that the car has had small problems. As for the chances of our drivers, I must say that I don't expect a good result in Melbourne from our boys. Both drivers struggle with the car heavily. It is quite normal that our drivers need some time to adapt to the car. But I expect that they will be there in the next races where they should be - in the front!"
