The Downforce Racing team's entry to the GPVWC SuperCup 2019 season has been rebranded as the GT Omega RPM eSports outfit, with the team still to be led by Jake Sanson as team principal with assistance from Justin Mifsud and Adrian Figallo.

The change has been universal and will also apply to the squad's entry in the World GT and International Touring Car campaigns, as the squad intends to fight for all three championships.

The team will be announcing its new drivers closer to the official February test sessions.

"Seeing the GT Omega RPM eSports name enter the GPVWC is a state of intent for championship glory," said Jake Sanson today. "The team is growing rapidly and has a presence various international competitions, with links to the Griiip G1 Virtual Series and other international competitions.

"RPM eSports want to win in GPVWC, they see the championship as a serious and integral part of virtual motorsport and the team will be much stronger for having the RPM squad onboard.

"I will only be testing for the squad at this stage rather than racing," Jake added. "2019 is a season of development and progression for me and with the drivers currently under the GT Omega RPM eSports banner, we have potential champions on our roster so it will be they who fight for the crown which I genuinely believe they can do even in their first year."

The rebranding of the squad will be similar in nature to that of the ACR Zakspeed take-over of 2017 Superleague champions Vod:Bul Racing.
