MCR is seeking a test driver for the 2002 season.

The ideal candidate will be dedicated and committed to helping the team develop the engine and chassis by turning laps at scheduled test sessions throughout the season.

A minimum of 30 laps per day of testing will be required, for up to four days in a row.

Although speed is not overly important to developing the car, the team is seeking someone who can record competitive lap times and is able to fill a seat on relatively short notice should the team's primary drivers be unable to race.

"This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious f1-caliber driver to get his foot in the door," says team owner, James Menzies. "He will have the chance to turn some heads, and get a good feel for one of the top cars on the circuit."

In addition, MCR hopes the successful candidate will be available to run the f3000 series.

To be considered, drivers must be officially registered with the GPVWC.

Interested drivers are then asked to sign up for the league, if they haven't already done so, and email their information to jamesmenzies@shaw.ca

"We won't necessarily reward the position to the fastest driver," says Menzies. "The driver who has the most ambition and dedication will be favored. We spend a lot of money on testing and it's crucial that we have someone in place who will show up for each test and drive the required number of laps."

The team hopes to fill this position as soon as possible.
