Mal McKee was quite happy with his first test performance for his team, BA Racing, in France.

He told us yesterday, "I managed to get a pretty good lap which was, I felt, competitive with some of the more seasoned drivers. Slightly disappointed in my overall placing though. I had looked at the lap times for the previous two days of testing, and thought I was going to be higher up. I guess others made improvements too. Still, I'm VERY happy with the team and with my new engineer. With the continued support of the team, along with a drive to perform better, I'm sure I'll keep improving with each race. I'd like to thank the team, who are very supportive, and also the mechanics who are doing a great job in ironing out any reliability problems. The car feels good."

Mal will be returning once more to Imola to compete in the prestigious F3000 series, in which he qualified 5th, before heading off to Spain.
