After winning the F3000 Imola Grand Prix in an impressive way, Dutch Hernj-Roaldo driver Erdem Coban finally sat down at the table to have a little chat with us.

"I feel terrific!", he began to smile. "I think I have raced a good, almost perfect weekend. Everything went fine, from practice till the chequered flag. The reason I came here, was because Roald wanted me to drive here. He wanted to know how good I was, and if I still could perform well, like I did in the MaMa-car earlier this season.

Coban first took pole and then won the race, leading from start till finish.

"To be honest, after the qualification, I had a good feeling about the race. I knew that I was able to win the race, if I didn't make any stupid mistakes. Roald and I trained hard on my consistency. Before the race-weekend began, he told me that I was without a doubt the fastest driver over one lap, but not the most consistent. He worked hard with me on that case. It paid off: I was extremely consistent during the race!"

Because he had to catch a plane, we could ask him only one more question: what was his view regarding the the personal criticism given by his Team Manager Roald Reurink, that his personal life was too exuberant? "Haha, I read it in the newspaper here. I understand he feels a bit upset about my other interests, but hey, what can I say? I need women, booze and parties....they keep me sharp!"
