Technical changes

  • A new second dry tyre compound (the "Soft" compound) was added, with the existing 2016 compound becoming the "Hard" compound. Both compounds would need to be used in a race.
  • The wet tyres recieved an adjustment to grip levels.
  • The downforce package selection was simplified, leaving just one aero package.
